ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE

The Alexander Technique is a practical method of postural re-education; it shows us how to move and poise ourselves effectively through the integration of body and mind. As time passes we begin to lose our inborn grace and vitality, which we have as children. Schooling, upbringing and the strain of modern life cause us to lose contact with our natural poise. Alexander allows our organism to return to its original state of poise. Sportsmen and women, singers, actors, dancers and musicians view the technique as an indispensable tool to their professional skills. In general it enhances the quality of life and personal development.

The Alexander work is concerned with the quality of movement and addresses conditions such as:

  • Stress
  • Stress-related disorders
  • High blood pressure
  • Fatigue
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Postural problems
  • Shoulder and neck tension
  • Spinal issues

Gerda has over twenty years of teaching experience and is also the senior Alexander teacher at the Mary-Mount Fordham London Dramatic Academy. To book an appointment with Gerda, please call Reception on: .
